    Text string limitation?

I am retreiving data from a SQL table in IP2003.

I keep getting an error on large data fields that say that there is a text string limit of 100 characters.

The database is set up to handle more and I am not submitting back to the database.

Is there a limit inherent in IP2003 and is there a work around?

    Thank you for your Help.

Perhaps your form schema has a character restriction on it? Did you create the schema in InfoPath or outside of it?

All created in native IP 2003

I checked the properties on the field and the attribute is as follows:

    Description (Optional attribute field)

    Maximum length: 100

    Default value: [@Description]

But I have no idea how to change this to longer than 100

    Thank you for your Help.

It sounds as though someone manually edited the schema file and added that restriction. I'm not aware of any place in the designer where you can create such a restriction and have it appear in the properties.

Extract your form files, edit the myschema.xsd file in notepad and see if there's a limit added to that attribute in there.

It was easier than that.  And a dumb mistake

I had the field in the main connection only set at 100 in SQL but in the drop down secondary connection it was 500

Changing Main to 500 fixed my problem

    Thank you for your Help.
