Forcing forms to open in Infopath from search results

We have Infopath forms that are created and modified with Infopath client. When we search forms and try to open form from search results, it tries to open in browser and gives an error. Form is not browser-compatible. We have Infopath 2007, MOSS 2007 and the forms are submitted to MOSS-library. Any ideas how make search results open in Infopath?

    Hi Mikal,

You can follow on these steps:

    1. In your SharePoint library toolbar, click on Form Library Settings.

    2. Under General Settings, click on Advanced settings.

    3. Please check if option "Open in the client application" is selected instead of "Display as a web page". If not, select it.

    Thanks,

Thanks for a tip, but that option is already in use.

I have also uncheck  checkboxes "Allow users to browser-enable form templates" and "Render form templates that are browser-enabled by users" from Central Admin - Application management - Configure Infopath Services".

This happens only if I click form from search result list. If I click it from form library, it opens in Infopath as I want it.

    Hi Mikal,

publish ur infopath form to some local location, say My documents.then after publishing fully, open central admin, and goto upload form template in application management tab,in infopath forms service scategory.Upload form from your local location, then goto manage form template and activate that form for a Site collection, that you are using. Now goto form library advanced settings, click on display as web page and allow management of content types. Then click on add from the existing content types, and select your form that u've uploaded through central admin. This time ur search things will help.

Let me know if it works or not..

Re: Forcing forms to open in Infopath from search results

    Hi

When I click verify or just try to upload to form, I get an error message saying that form is not browser-compatible. Nor it should be. I want to open and modify it in Infopath-client. It does that in form-library but does not from search results. I'm puzzled.
